McDYRE NAMED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of HKF
December, 2009 – Scottsdale, AZ.  The Harmon Killebrew Foundation (HKF) recently named Kelly McDyre, President of McDyre Management, as the new Executive Director.  Beginning January 1, 2010, Ms. McDyre will take over the new for interim Executive Director, Nita Killebrew.

“We are delighted to bring Kelly on board and look forward to growth and success with her,” said Harmon Killebrew, longtime Twins player and MLB Hall of Famer.  “We trust Kelly and know that she will fulfill the Foundation’s mission in this important time of growth.”

Ms. McDyre has worked with the HKF for the past three years in an event management capacity.  In her three years heading up the Harmon Killebrew Classic, the event has more than doubled its annual donations to beneficiaries and exceeded the $100,000 net amount for the first time in 2009.  Kelly’s 16 years of event management experience – eight of those with various non-profits – has set her up to be able to make an immediate impact with the HKF.  Additionally, Ms. McDyre’s participation in the 2010 Institute for Executive Director Leadership through the University of St. Thomas Graduate School of Business will give her more tools to effectively manage the Foundation.

“Kelly has proven to be an asset to the organization,” said Nita Killebrew.   “I look forward to stepping back and supporting her as she takes over the day to day operations of the HKF.”
